Finished ads, the brand inside the scene
A hundred and twenty-five 4:5 ads for three services, set in generated Malaysian shop and studio scenes - with the brand in the scene as a real object: a sign, a screen, a printed cover - rather than a logo pasted on top.
backdrops accepted of those generated. Twenty-seven were rejected on headline space or contrast rather than on looks - and every one of the 125 finished ads was checked on the real pixels under its own text.

What was done
The backdrops are generated with the brand built into the scene as a physical object, then the headline, the CTA and the destination URL are typeset over the open wall that was left for them. The reason is simple enough: a logo pasted onto a stock photograph looks like a logo pasted onto a stock photograph.
Three hundred backdrops were generated; 273 were accepted. The rejected ones were not ugly - they were rejected because the headline zone was not open enough, or because the contrast under a line of text fell below the floor.
Every ad is checked on the real pixels under every line of its text before it counts as finished. Three URLs in one batch of fifty failed the 4.5:1 floor - and that figure is reported here rather than hidden, because a batch that never reports a failure is a batch that was never checked.
What was measured
Note. Every scene and every person in these ads is generated and invented. None is a customer, a testimonial or a real shop.
